Test of new biostimulants in tomato

During the year 2018, PROMISOL has carried out an efficacy study of several biostimulant formulations in tomato cultivation in collaboration with NEVAL (Agricultural R + D Laboratory accredited by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment for the execution of Officially Recognized Trials (EOR) and with phytopathological diagnostic services of nematodes and insects).
Different formulations have been applied by fertigation in tomato plants. The soil was previously inoculated with populations of 3 different species of phytoparasitic nematodes to evaluate a possible protective effect of the biostimulant.
The results indicate a significant increase in the number of flowers with respect to the control, highlighting the formula nº 6 (9 plants per treatment).
The symptoms of nematode attack have also been diminished thanks to the biostimulant. The treated plants exhibit better tolerance to water stress combined with the infection:
The total weight of the first harvest has been, also for treatment 6, 35% higher than the control.
From PROMISOL we are very satisfied with the results obtained. We are currently conducting additional trials in horticulture and fruit trees; We hope to confirm the initial results and successfully introduce this new product to the market.
